THE STORY

My dad had a Citroen DS when we were kids and, when I went to stay in France as a kid, my mates' dads had them too. I was aways fascinated by how roomy, comfortable and elegant they were. I loved how they mysteriously rose up before gliding off and the way the headlights turned with the wheels. It was a love affair that continues to this day! You can read all about this iconic classic car by simply searching the internet. The DS was actually voted the 3rd best car of the last Millennium behind the Model T Ford and the Mini by a jury of 132 professional automotive journalists from 33 different countries.

 

I've owned this car since 1998. It's a very rare right-hand drive DS21 Pallas in 'Bleu Danube' and it was built in Paris in 1970.  Several years ago it underwent a complete refurbishment including new upholstery in cream and blue leather and suede and this summer has been treated to a new carburettor and steering rack. I dare not tell my wife how much I've spent on it over the years!

It was chosen in 2012 as 'Best DS' at the Citroen Car Club annual DS Rally.

I'm a retired schoolteacher based in North Devon - so now I have the time to pursue this venture.
